InsurQuote Acquired by Former Management Team

OREM, Utah – February 4, 2002 –  InsurQuote Systems, a leading provider of integrated insurance rating solutions to the property and casualty insurance industry, has been acquired by members of its former management team. Dave Whetten and Bill Woahn, who previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President of InsurQuote, respectively, have acquired the company from ChannelPoint, Inc.

InsurQuote was founded in 1986 by Mr. Whetten, who will serve as Chairman of the company. Mr. Woahn originally joined InsurQuote in 1993 as President, and will now serve as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Keith Toney, the current General Manager of InsurQuote, will continue on as President. InsurQuote will remain headquartered in Utah, and will focus on providing integrated insurance rating solutions to the agency and company markets.

InsurQuote's technology utilizes a sophisticated rating engine that enables the comparison of multiple carriers for personal auto and homeowners insurance. The company's core products include competitive market analysis tools for carriers and advanced comparative rating solutions for independent insurance agents.
